A Wonderful Time in KK

Day 1 - 18th Feb 2006 (Sat)

9 of us left for KK today - Szet Anne, Yeh Ying, Joanne, Li May, Fer, Anson, Kin Fei, Esther & me. We took off at 7.30pm from KLIA - free tickets from Air Asia :P There was a short delay as we were supposed to depart at 6.30pm. Finally after 2 1/2 hrs, we reached Sabah. Serena, her friend and Szet Anne's friends were there to pick us up. The 1st thing we did, EAT. So super hungry. We went to the restaurant for seafood. It was delicious. So fresh... superb... but the price was also quite high. No choice cos most of the restaurants had closed. Pretty late dy.

After dinner, we proceeded to Serena's house. We lepak a while there then went back to our place. We stayed in Waikiki at Tanjung Aru.

Day 2 - 19th Feb 2006 (Sun)

A few of us - Kin Fei, Szet Anne, Yeh Ying, Serena and me woke up early and went to Dayak market. There were stalls selling souvenirs, bracelets, food, puppies etc. Not too different from our pasar pagi. We had breakfast there and Serena dropped us at Sutera Harbour. Then, she went to pick up the rest of them. We attended SIB church which is situated inside Sutera Harbour. It looks so like CLGC in PJ. It was quite a confusing service to us. I guess we were just not used to it. haha! Anyway, quite interesting as we hardly attend other churches - unfamiliar faces, different style of music etc. After service, we split with those who are going to climb Mount KK. So it was them - the climbers and us, the beach bums.

Serena, Szet Anne, Yeh Ying and me left for Pulau Tiga. Serena drove all the way to the jetty about 2 hrs away from KK. We passed by Papar, Membakut etc. It was quite a fun journey. We had KFC as lunch in the car. We saw kerbau, kuda, sawah padi, etc.

At the jetty, we took a boat to Pulau Tiga - Survivor Island. It took us about 1/2 hr. Serena and I ter-slept in the boat. haha! Once we reached there, we saw some mud people :P When we arrived at Pulau Tiga, it was about 4.30pm. We quickly rented the snorkelling equipment and off we went. It was interesting. This was Anne's and my 1st time snorkelling. At 1st, I drank quite a lot of salt water but soon I managed to get hold of it. Looking at the corals and fishes at such close distance was amazing.

After that, we bathed and had dinner. There were not many people. About 20+ people in the whole island. So few huh?! And we were the only Asians there. After dinner, we have nothing much to do. Very sien. The tv room was occupied. The karaoke was occupied. What else lar? 8 plus we went into our rooms and played 'PayDay'. About 10plus, Serena and Anne went back their rooms and slept. I chatted with Yeh Ying till 11plus.

Day 3 - 20th Feb 2006 (Mon)

We woke up at about 7 and had breakfast. Then, we went to the Volcano Mud Pool. A very good experience. I mean a very dirty experience. haha! Look at us. We look dirty and as though we're naked. kaka! Fun fun fun! So muddy. Gross! Ugh! After that we rushed to the beach and went into the sea. Then, Anne, YY and me went snorkelling again. This time, it was even nicer. I managed to come face to face with a big yellow and black angel fish, small and big nemo, many big fishes. I think because it's hot and now the water is clearer. We snorkel just a while as we're very tired and need to go home soon. After lunch, we left Pulau Tiga and proceed back to KK. We had a crazy ride home - singing, shouting, taking pics etc. haha!

For dinner, we went to 'WELCOME' restaurant for seafood. There were 5 of us, all girls, and we ordered 7 dishes. Yup 7! We had 2 types of crabs, 2 types of prawns, garlic mussels, 1 vege, 1 taufu and plain rice. We finished everything. The food was good and very cheap. The meal cost us about RM150.

Day 4 - 21st Feb 2006 (Tues)

Nothing much to do today. We woke up at 9plus but just lying around in bed till 11 plus. I was so not used to the time here as it gets bright at 6 plus. When I woke up at 9, I told anne, "It has been so long since I got up so early. What's the time now?" and she told me, "9plus" and I was shocked. Only 9 plus?!! I thought it's already 11 plus. We waited for Dr. Serena to pick us up for lunch as today she started work. She had left for the hospital about 6plus. So early. We went for Japanese food at Nishiki in town. The food was good especially the sashimi. So fresh but I still prefer Wa-raku of course. After that, we went back to Waikiki condo.

In the evening, we walked to Shangrila Tanjung Aru. Just to look around. Then, we came back to our condo. Yeh Ying and I went for a swim. It was refreshing as the weather was pretty hot. The climbers came back from Mount KK about 7 plus but we had already left for dinner at Gaya. Seafood again. haha! This time, 4 girls, 6 dishes - 1kg crab, 1kg prawns, 1kg oyster, 1 kangkung belacan, 1/2 kg big lala, 1 fried rice. Aiyo... this time super super full and a bit jelak dy. kaka! No more seafood for the rest of the month. This time it was even cheaper and bigger portion. Only about RM120. KL restaurants, did you hear that? Thieves! Robbers!

After dinner, Serena drove us to Hospital Likas for a visit. Ya... doctor will only bring us to visit hospital during holidays. haha! My 1st time visiting a hospital on purpose. Then, we drove to UMS. Super huge Uni man. Wow! Amazing... Then, I received a surprise sms from Kin Fei, " Anywhere to go? Very bored le..." We were shocked, thinking that they will collapsed by that time. So we got to know that only Joanne, Fer and Li May - the 3 pharmacists, managed to reach the summit. Kin Fei and Esther went half way and slept while waiting for the 3 of them to come down again. Kin Fei had cramps and Esther had altitude sickness. kaka! So we (except the mountain girls) went for bubble tea at Yoyo. Had a crazy time listening to each others' experience.

Day 5 - 22nd Feb 2006

Yup...Finally we're going back to reality again. kaka! Szet Anne, Kin Fei and I went for breakfast. Anne's friend Alice and John brought us to eat "Sang Yok Meen" at Likas. Okler... actually it's pork noodles. What I like most is the thick beehoon. Nice. About 10plus we left for the airport and bye bye KK... hello KL.
