Christmas Eve 2007

What to do for Christmas eve? We have been thinking about this since 2 weeks ago. It's really a tough question. haha! Every year, we celebrate with friends - with dinner at someone's place, etc. But this year, it was just the two of us. Since we got married, I would say most of the time, we did a lot of things with others but now no choice. Coming here has changed our world of 'many friends world' to 'honeymoon world'. We eat, we shop, we celebrate, we lepak. We=2.

On Christmas Eve, we went out about 5 plus - not knowing where to go. we just wanted a nice, simple dinner. Most of the nice restaurants were fully booked. So we planned to just walk around and find one. Our journey began...

From the pier, we walked to IFC mall. Nothing interesting so we continued to Lan Kwai Fong. Even though it was about 6pm many ppl were already partying and drinking at the pubs.

We walked about 30mins finally (no choice) decided on a chinese restaurant which served christmas dinner. We went in sat down and looked around. It was like a kopitiam, ppl eating noodles, talking loud etc. Er... Christmas dinner here? We quickly walked out. Better than nothing, we went to Delifrance.

Delifrance in HK is not too bad. They have many choices and this particular one has quite a nice ambience and it was actually quiet. Considered romantic la : P We had clam pasta, caesar salad, 2 bowls of soup and a big mushroom pizza. We spent about an hour but it was still so early! about 7pm. Aiyah! So we walked to Statue Square, Central. They have a 4-storey tall Christmas tree. There's Christian groups singing, performing dance, drama etc. Grabbed some shots.

Then, we walked around the area. We saw carollers by the street. They were having so much fun. The atmosphere everywhere was very fun cos you can hear Christian groups singing all over. And some churches will rent trams, buses, ferry etc... go around town and sing Christmas carols.

Then, We wanted to go to the washroom but couldn't find as the malls were closed. Since so early, we took the MTR to Causeway Bay. So ridiculous right. Nolar... cos we really have so much time to spare. We popped by McD and had coffee. After so much of walking, I was hungry and had a ham and cheese burger :P Then got a good seat, overlooking Times Square. We saw many people and thought there might be countdown. But about 11pm, we realized there might not be.

We took the MTR again back to Statue Square. haha! Just in time to watch an hour of performance. No regrets coming back here. We have never experienced this before. There were christmas carols, drama, christian praise songs and there's a pastor who preached on salvation. Never encountered an open evangelism like that before. The countdown was not the focus cos at 12, an altar call was made. Many people went and accepted Christ. People were waving candles and singing 'Here I Am To Worship'. It was really touching. Nothing more meaningful than seeing people coming back to Him at 12am on Christmas Day.
