Tung Ling days...

I really miss Tung Ling(TL). It was a life-changing 3 months for me. So what exactly did I do in TL?

Every morning (Mon to Fri) I'll leave my place(KL) at 6.30am to drive all the way to Subang. Traffic was not too bad. Heavy but smooth. I got stuck only once - pretty amazing for KL standards. Before I started, I struggled cos I was fearful of the long journey. Before this, I'd even complain about driving to PJ (bear in mind I'm from Sbn.haha!) I prayed so many times (I even asked my Prayer Group to pray) and told God, "Help me to enjoy the journey". It's just so amazing. Not once I felt tired of driving that 1 hr journey and I actually enjoyed it. I spent time with God in the car, singing praises to Him and talking to Him. Now, I have no problems driving to PJ.

So, back to the story...

Once I reached TL, we start praying together at 7.30am. We'd pray for the nations - Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and many more - our Prime Minister, Tung Ling, our friends, families, relatives, ourselves and so many more. Sometimes I enjoyed, sometimes not (cos so early ma, sleepy sometimes). But overall yes... it was great to see many prayers answered and how united we were in intercession and standing in the gap.
EVERYONE (24students) were scheduled to lead prayer, devotion, sharing the Word and do spring cleaning - rotating daily.

After that, we'd move on to worship time. So when I went to TL, I started being a guitarist. Not a very good one but oklar... In the 2nd week, I struggled when I was practising guitar at home. One bcos I normally don't practise, 2nd I only know how to play some basic chords, 3rdly i couldn't cope much cos I need to study and do church work. I prayed to God and said "Please help me to play the piano". I went into the music room, I start playing chords. Out of nowhere I could play chords - yahoo! Thank you, God. I have never played for worship before bcos I just don't get the idea of playing chords but reading notes, I'm ok. So that's the 1st time I was able to play for worship. From that week on, I stopped playing the guitar but started playing the piano. We only have 4 guitarists - Garrett, Charles, Arron & Janice. Pianists - Chelsea and me.

After worship, we'll share devotions. We could choose any topic and any verses to share. Each person shared twice throughout the whole course. It really built up my courage to speak in front of the class. Really totally dependended on Him - cos to me, it was as scary as preaching.

Then, study time began. Each lecturer would teach about 3 days. The topics that were taught:
Christian Character Development, DISC Profiling, Songs of Solomon, Feasts of Israel, Music and Worship, Prayer and Fasting, Discovering the Anointing, Spiritual Gifts, Father Heart of God, Hearing God's Voice, Keys of Knowledge, Homiletics, Understanding Missions Perspective, Strategic Leadership, Discovering God's Call and Purposes, How We Got the Bible, Spiritual Warfare and Breaking Bondages, Survey of the Bible, Mentoring, Personal Bible Study, Amos, Church History, Spiritual Journaling and Book of Romans. Every single topic was interesting and God's presence was so real in every class. God revealed so much of ourselves to us - moulding and changing us day after day.

Besides that, we had exams too. Not all subjects but about 10subjects. It's just so weird to take exams with aunties and uncles. haha! Can see some of them are so kiasu even though they are adults. keke! Each one will also take turns to meet up with the principal - Ps Wah Lok. It's just a time of sharing and I enjoyed it.

Everyday we had tea break at 10.10am. Thank God for great aunties who always brought delicious food for us. The food that we enjoyed most and made most noise about is nasi lemak. hehe! In between classes, we'll have 5mins toilet break too. Our class is just up to 1.00pm then we'll have lunch together.

Finally, after 3 months of studies, the graduation day arrived. All of us were very sad. We didn't want to leave - especially after the bonding among each other. When we just started Tung Ling, 3 months seemed so long but actually 3 months just passed by like that. Thank God for a successful presentation. I had a great time though I was having bad gastric after the presentation. A real bad one. But that aside, i'll never forget this wonderful experience. Just wished that this will continue. hehe! But this is not the end, just the beginning of a new life. A life to make a difference and impace in the community. God has truly blessed me with this experience.
