A Long Day
It has been a long day today but I am not that tired afterall. As usual on a Sunday morning, we'll leave to church at 8.30pm. I am backuping today. The dress code for today is shades of pink and brown. The 1st thing that came to my mind was putting on pink shirt and brown skirt. Then, I realized it was kinda mismatched. At last, wore a brown blouse and skirt. It's just hard to find suitable clothes in S'ban as most of my wardrobe is in KL. It's a little troublesome when you need to shift up and down every week.
We gave Pastor Ben a birthday surprise today. It's his 50th birthday. It was awesome and touching. He didn't know at all. Before the service was over, the choir came out and all of us (including the congregration) sang the birthday song. Aunty Cynthia came in with some lighted "orchids on water" then Aunty Jenny brought in the birthday cake. The atmosphere was so beautiful, from the stage. Everyone stood up and so many people. When we were praying for Pastor Ben, he even cried. But the most disappointing part is... I forgot to bring my camera and I couldn't get anyone to take pics. Our official photographer went to the fellowship corner for duty. Aiks! So no pic was taken. So sad...
After service, we launched our 1st "fellowship-after service" makan. There was finger food served - cakes, curry puffs and hot beverages. It's just nice to see everyone staying back after service. Then, I had to rush to drama practice. I am helping them to do the slide show and this is the 1st time we're coming together to practise. Not too bad though the timing was out a little here and there. Thank God! This was quite a tough assignment. It was tough looking for pictures to suit the script. Then, I rushed for choir, hoping to be on time. But, when I arrived they were already having their closing prayer. Felt so bad. After choir, had to stay back to attend the Easter 2006 meeting. I am not the committee but Paul asked me to stay so I had to cos I thought I'm involved. Then, I realized they might need me to do multimedia stuff.
Finally, got home about 4plus. I knew I was a little tired but hesitant to take a nap cos I knew I won't be able to get up by 7pm. Went for Pastor Ben's birthday party at 6.45pm. About 100 people was there. Pastor Sally invited the head of departments, cell leaders, head of ministries and some outstation pastors who were Pastor Ben's close friends. We had a great time eating and fellowshipping. And managed to do some Aspirers Retreat 2006 planning with Eunice and Anne. About 11pm, we left for KL.
