Experiencing God

Last week, I bought a devotion book 'Experiencing God' by Henry T. Blackaby & Claude V. King. and I found it very good. So far, I've done only 3 lessons but I felt that it really helps me a lot. A summary of what I've learnt.

Lesson 1 - Jesus Is Your Way
I've learnt that we shouldn't expect God to give us a detailed map. We have to learn to follow Him step by step, this is when faith comes in. Often, we are so impatient, hoping that God will show us everything then we follow. The truth is Jesus is the way. We just need to follow Him one day at a time and He will keep us in the center of His Will.

Lesson 2 - Jesus Is Your Model
It is not so much of what's God's Will in our lives but what is His Will? We need to focus on God, not our life. When we know His Will, we adjust our lives to Him.

Lesson 3 - Learning to Be a Servant of God
To be a servant of God, we must be moldable and remain in His hands. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. The world's view as a servant is, we get the orders then go out and do them but what God wants is we relate to Him, respond to Him, and adjust our lives to Him so that He can do whatever He wants to do through us. We need to let God use us to fulfill His purposes.
